This year we plan to make an additional accent at various kinds of speech phenomena: voice understanding and synthesis, prosody, rhyme, etc. Other topics of interest include (but are not limited to): * theoretical and cognitive linguistics * syntax, semantics, pragmatics and their interaction * multilingual natural language processing * systems for natural language processing * text, dialog and speech act in the computational framework * knowledge representation and processing DIALOG'00 is the sixth international workshop reviving the tradition of the interdisciplinary DIALOG seminars which were regular events in the former USSR during 70s-80s. Previous workshops (starting from 1995) significantly increased the number of participants and scope of research interests and became the major annual national event, which attracts leading researchers from the former USSR as well as other countries. We hope that DIALOG'00 will continue this tradition. Tarusa is located 120 km sou from Moscow in a picturesque place on the bank of Oka river. The number of participants is expected about 100. Every prospective attendee is required to submit a short research summary including relevant recent publications, regular and e-mail address, fax and phone numbers. Participants who wish to present their work are additionally required to submit a poster (1-3 double-spaced pages) or a full paper (not exceeding 12 double-spaced pages) preferably via e-mail (in plain ASCII or uuencoded Winword files) to the address of the Program Committee. Because of some additional organizing difficulties which postponed this letter the Committee decided to add two weeks to the time-table of formation of the Workshop's program: *** Deadline for submission: February 1, 2000 *** Notification of acceptance: February 29, 2000 Please send submissions in Russian or English, papers in Russian should be accompanied with a short summary in English (approximately 100-200 words).
