************************************************************ 4th INTEX Workshop University of Bordeaux-3, June 11th and 12th juin, 2001 ************************************************************ INTEX is a linguistic development environment that allows users to construct large-coverage linguistic resources, and to apply them to lar= ge texts. These resources can be DELA-type dictionaries, libraries of finite-state graphs and syntactic & semantic data bases in the form of lexicon-grammars. The system is that it is open: users can add their own linguistic resou= rces and use elementary functionalities in their own applications, either by importing standalone programs, or by using the API. INTEX is now used in more than 60 research centers as a linguistic tool, an information retrieval system, to teach second languages, as a terminological extractor, as well as to teach computational linguistics to graduate students. This fourth workshop will offer the INTEX users the opportunity to meet and share their experience in research, development and teaching. The latest additions to the features of INTEX will be presented. For the new INTEX users, or for researchers who use other linguistic development environments, the workshop will be an opportunity to discover a wide spectrum of projects that are based on the INTEX technology. Following the presentations, two tutorial sessions (initiation, advanced) will gi= ve participants an opportunity to play with the system.
