XII SEPLN CONGRESS (SOCIEDAD ESPAQOLA PARA EL PROCESAMIENTO DEL LENGUAJE NATURAL) FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS The XII SEPLN Congress will take place on the 11th, 12th, and 13th September 1996 in the English Language Department of the University of Seville. The envisaged syllabus comprises tutorials, invited talks, a colloquium, paper presentations, and demonstrations, all related to state-of-the-art topics within NLP. TOPICS OF SPECIAL INTEREST Corpus analysis. Document processing. Morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic analysis. Computational lexicography and terminology. User-machine interface scenarios. Information extraction and retrieval. Machine translation. Mono/multilingual text generation. Speech recognition and synthesis. Computer-assisted language learning. APPLICATION PROCEDURE The deadline for paper application is May 6th 1996. Complete texts (max. 2000 words) are requested to be sent by e-mail, but three surface mail copies will also be accepted. Demonstration authors must enclose a summary (max. 300 words) and specify the computing requirements for the demonstration. On June 3rd applicants will be informed of the Program Committee's decision, their evaluation, and further comments. In order to enable an early publication of the proceedings, copies of the papers in their final format must be sent before June 15th. This is also the deadline for the payment of the participants' congress fees. Final formats will be specified in the Second Call for Papers on February 15th.
