The Parameters window is used to: o View the values of parameters that the zclient stores for any server in its list of servers. These include information used by the zclient in identifying the server and in tailoring the Z39.50 conversation with the server. o Update the zclient's data on a server already in its list. o Create a new entry in the zclient's list of server information. To view the parameters for a server already on the list: The window displays the information for the current server when the window is created. To choose another server, click on its nickname in the list box and its data will appear in the fields to the left. To update the zclient's data on a server already in its list: Click on the server's nickname in the list, if need be, to display the current information on it. Modify any fields EXCEPT the server nickname. Click on "OK" to cause the information to be used for the duration of the current zclient invocation starting the next time the zclient connects to the server or aborts a search, or Click on "Save" to cause the information to be used for the duration of the current zclient invocation starting the next time the zclient connects to the server or aborts a search AND store the information in the zclient's list of server data for future invocations. To create a new entry in the zclient's list of server information: Enter the new server nickname in the "Server nickname" field. Enter the values for the other fields. Click on "OK" to cause the information to be used for the duration of the current zclient invocation starting the next time the zclient connects to the server or aborts a search, or click on "Save" to cause the information to be used for the duration of the current zclient invocation starting the next time the zclient connects to the server or aborts a search AND store the information in the zclient's list of server data for future invocations. To ignore any currently visible input: Click on "Cancel"
