GRAMMAR AND LANGUAGE THEORY

Welcome to the web pages of the GELATO Project, which are a part of COLEweb, the web server of the COLE Research group.

The GELATO Project is intended for developing theoretical frameworks for grammars and languages. This include the invention of efficient parsing algorithms and deduction methods that could be applied in practical applications, including compilation of computer languages, natural language processing and logic programming.

We are currently work in the following research topics:

• Finite-state automata for inflectional morphology.
• Incremental Parsing.
• LR techniques for parsing and deduction.
• Logic-based formalisms like Definite Clause Grammars (DCG).
• Treatment of cyclic logic terms.
• Tree Adjoining Grammars and related frameworks.
